Friday Freebie!

Crochet much? Me neither. I only do a straight line back and forth. None-the-less, this cute frog suit pattern is yours for free HERE.

Side note: The suit sort of looks like an alligator?

Feline Feelings

Here at the household we have feelings when it comes to felines. If you're pro-cat then don't watch the clip. You'll most likely be very offended, like our neighbor girl was when we showed it to her. And yes, upon close examination you can see the cat head drop inside the vehicle. : )

Summer Reading

I got this paper-back book last year for my brother... and got one for me too since they were on clearance. Then, the other day on Amazon, I saw that the hardback is now on clearance for a mere $5.20! I ordered two. Not only is it a great price but when an emergency gift is needed, it's ideal.

Knucklehead is the autobiography of Jon Scieszka's growing up childhood with his 5 other brothers. The book is geared toward boys ages 8+ who love potty humor and mischievousness (the good kind). Naturally, I loved it. It's hilarious. There are 106 pages, almost all of which feature photos and/or illustration. Each chapter is a new story and is no more than three pages. It moves along fast and I devoured it in less than an hour. You can actually read the first 3 chapters by clicking on the cover photo that says "Look Inside!" HERE. It's only $5.20 for the hardback right now HERE!

H is for Hector

Have you ever heard of The Gashlycrumb Tinies? I discovered this book a couple years back and cracked up. It's dark, I know. If you don't like dark humor, don't read the book online HERE or watch/hear it sung HERE.

P90X Baby

Boo borrowed a couple of P90X dvd's from our neighbor the other day. We did the "Plyometrics" one that works out the legs and buns. Holy cow. After 20 minutes I was drenched in sweat. Drenched. Also, after those first 20 minutes I was ready for a rest so when the 30 second break point came up in the schedule, I took it and continued on resting for the remaining 40 minutes of the program while Boonies toughed it out and finished. Does that sound pathetic? Yeah, it is but I feel no shame, even though one of the groupie guys on the dvd has a prosthetic leg and didn't have any trouble at all. It was nice to be able to excercise in the cool of the house during those hard-pressed, precious, few minutes. I'm definitely going to do it again today and plan on making it the whole way through. To bad you won't be there. It's going to be quite a show.

Last Week

Brought to you by Family-Bonding-Yard-Work-Time...

The scorpion enemy:

The pvc pipe weapon (bravely utilized by mom):

The size and outcome (being mostly dead before its final smashing to smithereens):

There's never a dull moment during those precious early hours shared together while working on the yard. Those scorpions sure do give me the creeps.

Side note: They don't give me the creeps when we drop them into a flaming ring of fire on the sidewalk followed by egging them on. That's pretty cool.
